My foot prints all over Karnataka !!

After coming back to bangalore ,I have visited quite a few places around Karnataka.And I realized that Karnataka is gifted by mother nature .
Just to recall the places I have stepped foot on in the last 2-3 months :
Mysore ,Srirangapatna : The land of Tipu Sultan
Coorg,Kushalnagar,Talakaveri,Bhagamandala : Coffee estates , brahmaagiri ranges,origin of the Kaveri River
Chickmagalore, base to the Mullyanagiri Hills (the highest peak in karnataka),Bababudanagiri hills
Belur :Cradle of architecture ,a world heritage site
Kemmangundi,Kalahasti : Awesome forests,bhadra wild life sanctuary
Dandeli : Home to thick forests besides the raging River Kali
The Coastal stretch :Talk of temples and u have Sringeri,Horanadu,Kalsa,Udupi
and beaches :Murudeshwar,Maravanthe,Malpe,St Mary's islands
And finally Kumar Parvata ,standing tall and mighty behind the Kukke Subramanya temple ..
And there are so many more places I have still to see ..And all these have been travelled just over the regular weekends without having to take extra leaves.So bangalore's actually a nice place to stay!!

Melkote : The temple town

Melukote is an ideal 1 day weekend getaway /picnic spot for bangalore dwellers. It has become famous after the song "Barso Re" from the film "Guru" was shot here. Kodachadri : A fabulous weekend !!!

Sunset @ Marvanthe beach Sunrise @ kodachadri Date : 5th Jan and 6th Jan 2008 Junta : Rani ,Shivaji and Guru, Dakshina Route :Bangalore -Shimoga-Kodachadri Junction-Kodachadri-Kollur-Marvanthe-Kundapur-Bangalore I think its once in a lifetime that u get to catch the sunlight over a hill and sunset over the sea. At least for me it was a great SUN Day :We literally followed the Sun !!! :) For some logistics : We set out by the Friday night 10.30 train to Shimoga .Reached there at 6.45 pm; freshened up; and took a service bus to Kollur [Another 3 hours ]. [You can direcly go to Kollur as well,and travel by jeep directly to Kodachadri ].
